Northeastern University—Seattle Campus Reopening

Requirements and General Information

Where can I learn more about the university’s current guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic?
Broad information on how Northeastern University is managing the COVID-19 pandemic can be found by visiting the Safe Campus Guide.

What are the current requirements adhered to by every member of the Northeastern Seattle community?

  • All students, faculty, and staff based in the United States must submit proof of vaccination and booster via Northeastern’s Vaccine Verification Form. Individuals who are not yet eligible to receive a booster shot should complete the form with this information AND must obtain booster shot within 7 days of eligibility.
  • Follow all current CDC Guidelines on self-isolation and self-quarantine.
  • Participate in contact tracing as requested.
  • Comply with public health guidance and university protocols and policies.

Do I need a booster shot?
Yes, all faculty and staff who work at one of Northeastern University’s U.S. campuses, and all students attending or visiting a U.S. campus, were required to receive a booster shot by January 18, 2022, or seven days after they become eligible. Consistent with our decision to require vaccination of all students, faculty, staff, and contract employees, we believe that vaccination remains essential to successfully manage the pandemic.
Northeastern will accept a vaccine approved in the United States or a vaccine listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) to fulfill this requirement.
More detailed information can be found on Northeastern’s Vaccination FAQ site.

How do COVID-19 variants factor into Northeastern’s plans?
Northeastern is closely monitoring the public health guidelines regarding the spread of variants in the U.S. and around the world, particularly places where the university has campus locations and students participating in experiential learning programs.
