Speaker Spotlight Series: Haquathon with Andres Paz
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM225 Terry Ave. N | Room 306
Abstract
This will be a hands-on workshop in which students will learn the basics of quantum programming by solving “katas”: puzzles intended to teach quantum programming concepts. Andres will give a brief introduction about the core concepts of quantum programming and explain how to use the katas. Students will then have time to work on the katas at their own pace.
Biography
Andres is a Principal Software Developer at Microsoft. He has many years of experience working on everything a (classical) computer can do: compilers, applications, large scale systems, you name it. Currently, he works at Microsoft’s Research Quantum group where he’s involved with building tools and applications that will empower developers to write quantum programs at scale. Specifically, he is involved in writing the Q# compiler, the quantum simulation framework and their open source quantum samples and libraries.
