Letter from the Dean (Cont.)
September 18, 2013
I had two meetings yesterday on STEM issues, first with Gaming Company CEOs and then with education pioneers, all exploring how we can best use technology and good coordination among stakeholders to give the next generation the tools they need to become STEM leaders.
Next week our Speaker Series will take on the vital issue for how regions like ours meet both the sustainability features all regions need and the urban design features, both public and private, that are needed to recruit and retain the technology companies and workers our region needs to prosper. I hope you can join the conversation on Sep. 25
Coming up soon is an important deadline for any company, which wants to consider adding a six-month Northeastern Co-op student to its ranks. By late October any company desiring a Co-op must file with Northeastern the job description. The Co-op program is a terrific way to get great value at an affordable rate and also recruit future employees. Don’t miss this deadline if you would like to try out Northeastern’s Co-op program. Interviews are starting soon for spring placements.
Finally, starting this issue our newsletter includes a section for Seattle-area Students to provide needed information and new developments to our students. Our campus is home to students to meet together or study during the day and prior to their evening classes.
