This talk will feature Dr. Alice Ferng, currently at Microsoft. Dr. Ferng trained as an MD/PhD, pursuing earlier childhood dreams of becoming a surgeon, but competing passions later on led to a career switch into engineering and other industries/disciplines. During COVID-19 pandemic times, she has been able to apply her cross-disciplinary expertise and skills in various capacities, including as Microsoft’s PPE lead, a consultant for the state, and as a leader in a non-profit maker effort that has donated more than 180,000 PPE items to date. She will discuss her non-linear path into the technology field and share about her current work at Microsoft. Please note: this event will not be recorded.
