COVID-19 Testing Comes to the Seattle Campus!

COVID-19 Testing Comes to the Seattle Campus!

The Northeastern University in Seattle campus announces on-campus COVID-19 testing for all faculty, staff, and students beginning on January 25, 2021. This measure, the latest in on-campus safety protocols, promotes a safe and healthy environment for our Northeastern community in the Seattle area. Weekly testing is required for anyone returning to campus.

Beginning Monday, February 1, 2021, individuals will need a negative test result in the last 7 days.

The Seattle COVID-19 testing center, located in Suite 102 of 225 Terry Ave N building, will be open from Monday – Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Appointments will be available every 30 minutes. Members of the Seattle Northeastern community can collect their samples on-site via a self-administered anterior nasal swab that will be analyzed by an external partner, ColorThe Color COVID-19 Test  a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) assay  scans for an active infection of COVID-19.  It is not an antibody test and will not detect a previous infection. Color will send test results to the individual through a secure, personal portal within 36 – 48 hours of when the test was taken

The new testing effort on the Seattle campus aligns with Northeastern’s “Protect the Pack” (#ProtectThePackNU) mantra, which encourages healthy behaviors throughout the university community. Because staying healthy is a group efforteveryone needs to do their part to “protect the pack. Seattle campus student community health ambassadors (CHAs) are leading by example and challenging others to stay healthy by practicing healthy distancing, washing hands regularly, and wearing masks. The CHAs will continue to encourage healthy and safe practices on the Seattle campus as the testing center opens
