Taking Notes with Style: Strategies on Notetaking
3 PM -4 PM PT
Taking notes can be challenging. Perhaps you try to write down every word your instructor says. You scribble and scribble and scribble but aren’t always able to keep up with your instructor’s pace. You miss words, you skip others, and jot down whatever you can, but at the end, your notes are messy—almost incomprehensible to read. If you’ve ever found yourself in this situation, or are interested in becoming a good notetaker, then this workshop is for you. In this workshop, we will discuss different note-taking strategies you can apply during course lectures. We will also learn listening strategies you can follow so you can take concise and accurate notes. By the end of our workshop, you will write notes you can consult when reviewing for your courses.
